　　高级口译模考翻译部分汉译英解析

　　中文表达里四字格很常见，在汉译英的时候是难点。像“潜心治学”，“名师荟萃”，“鸿儒辉映”这样的词只要按意思翻译即可。

　　① 这句句子的主干是“清华大学已成为重要基地”，前面用于修饰的部分较长。翻译的时候，注意英汉语序的差异。

　　3. 我国高等学校要把提高质量作为教育改革发展最核心最紧迫的任务①。
　　 【翻译解析】
　　① 句子的主题词是“最核心最紧迫的任务”，译成英文时，往往采用It is the most essential and pressing task ... 这样的结构。
　　Tip ：
　　汉译英翻译的时候，要注意汉英语序的差异。汉语往往是“头大身体小”，而英语的表达
　　习惯则正好相反。

　　【翻译解析】
　　① 财政投入，即注入资金，译为injection of funds。
　　② 把各种资源集中起来，用于某事，在英文中很对应的表达是pool ... to do sth.
　　③ 学有所教，意思是确保要学习的人都能获得教育。
　　④ 学有所用，即把学到的只是更好地利用，中文译为make better use of knowledge。比较级的机构和前面两个比较级在形式上一致。
　　【参考译文】
　　Governments at all levels will continuously expand the injection of funds and pool more social resources to support education, so as to form a favorable social environment giving priority to the development of education. We will ensure that all the students have easier access to higher education, more chances to succeed, and make better use of their knowledge.

　　 【翻译解析】
　　① “海阔凭鱼跃，天高任鸟飞”，按照意思翻译即可。
　　② 广阔的舞台，这里译为ample arena。ample 除了“充足的”，还有large in size, spacious的意思。
　　③ “应该大有作为，必将大有作为”，两个相似的句子用can 和must 两个词来译。

　　The vast sea allows fishes to leap about, and open sky leaves birds to glide. The endeavor to achieve the rejuvenation of the Chinese nation will provide an ample arena for all ambitious young people to create a wonderful life.
