As for food, Hamburgers and hot dogs are perhaps the best known. The appearance of "fast food" is actually the result of American desire for speed. But many American families like cooking in their free time. They buy food in the supermarket. There have been supermarkets in the USA since the 1930s, and they have now spread through a large part of the world.
