我在Monash 读IT[澳大利亚]

记得一年前我就得到过好多朋友的无私帮助。我在Monash Caulfield学IT, 很愿意为后来者解答疑问。

我感觉Monash的学术水平不是很高，至少对coursework的学生来说是这样的。Research的情况我不清楚，相信不会太高，但是少数专业很高，如医学。但我觉得学术水平对我来说不是很重要，因为我几乎是从头学起的，所以可以学到专业水平我已经很满意了。但是如果你要以后搞研究，就要注意学术水平了。

我想Monash IT的学术水平比墨大低。可能是因为我转专业的缘故，我在澳洲作IT的亲戚让我不要考虑墨大。他问我以后准备找工作还是继续深造，如果是找工作就不要考虑墨大。我想可能他对墨大有偏见。在我眼里墨大档次比较高。

我上学期(第二学期)学了：cse9020, cse3400,cse3000,cse5220,感觉cse3400不是HD就是FAIL，老师很认真。 cse5220不会FAIL，但是什么都学不到，老师很懒。这学期我准备学：cse3208,cse3420,cse4892,cse5501。另外我还在学Cisco,可以抵消两门课。

FAIL一门就要重学，也就是要重新交那门课的学费。但是这里的大多数课都不难，如果翻成中文你会觉得太简单的，跟国内的理工科难度不能比。我以前就是学数学的，我知道我现在学的那么简单的东西拿给我以前同学看的话，他们肯定会笑话我的。但是如果太不重视也是可能Fail的。最好的办法是找几个同学选一样的课。

For my course(MAIT), there are 5 compulsories: cse9000, cse9001, cse9002, ims9001, cse9020.my first semester: cse9000,cse9001,cse9002,ims9001.my second semester: cse9020,cse3400,cse3000,cse5220。

Here for every course there is one or two course coordinator, students can come for help if they got some problems on study, so he is the person who knows most about your course. You can check the handbook for your course on web and find out who your course coordinator is, then search on Monash web site to find his email, then you can contact him. I did that when I was in China.

To be an IT professional may be hard, but to take the coursework is not hard at all. Especially for MAIT and MIMS, especially at the beginning. But it’s hard to find a job.

You can check most of the subjects provided by CSSE here ( Please have a look, you can know everything about the subject here: http://www.csse.monash.edu.au/courseware/

You will find that most of the subjects are easier than you thought. Some IT professionals may feel them baby talk. For MAIT, cse9000,cse9001, cse9002 are 3 of the 4 subjects in the first semester, very easy. You can check out for yourself following above link. Another subject I took in this list is cse3400, a bit hard.
